Between a rock and a hard place
Between a rock and a hard place,
Between a rock and a hard place, an ultimatum I have
to face
"Hands in the air, put them over your head,"
Sayin' "if you don't move you might not end up dead."
Just between a rock and a brick wall
Looks like I might have to take a fall
Behind bars or maybe something worse
What will it take to lift this curse?
But I can't give in and
I won't let go
And if there's only one thing I'm sure I know
That there's an end in sight, and that there's a passage through
And that all I need is the faith that is true
Between a rock and a hard place
Between a rock and a hard place,
Between a rock and a hard place, a situation I can't erase
A ditch to dig, a new row to hoe
I grit my teeth and pray that something might grow
Between a chill and a cold sweat
No need to remind, I don't forget
It seems I made it too easy to gain my trust
But under duress I guess you do what you must
Between a rock and a hard place,
Between a rock and a hard place...
But I can't live in fear,
while the walls come down slow
Still I hope this time next year, there's a little bit more
to show
That there's an end in sight, I see a passage through
And all that I need is the light take me through
(rap/toasting) My little
business is against the law
For the herb I have, you only need one draw
I prefer to sell to only those I know
But, in times like these, well, the trade is slow
So I took a little stash to the local park
And I sold a little bag to the local narc
I see the crime all the time but, now I'm held with out bail
While the guilty make the rules, it is I in jail.
Between a rock and a hard place.
