Now maybe he's a victim of the breakdown of the system
He spreads himself too thin, But, then, he tries too stay in touch
Collecting facts like butterflies, he became the man that you despise
What could be more tragic than the man who knew too much
The man who knew too much

From his deck, some cards are missing there
And then to cheat at solitaire?
Should he play it down and dirty
What would you do in a clutch?
What's the good of good intention...
When mixed with condescension?
A dishonorable mention for the man who knew too much

The man who knew too much, he could snap but he couldn't bend
The man who knew too much knew exactly how it had to end
Years of tears, gone up in smoke, final straw, the back is broke
But, you could learn a thing or two from the man who knew too much

When you get hit below the belt
You do your best with what's been dealt
But when it comes heart ache
It's as funny as a broken crutch
So as you limp across the parking lot
Remember now what he forgot
No one can go the distance like the man who knew too much
Oh you could learn a thing or two from the man who knew too much!
